The person told me about the rain cap so I so got one for the top. I will think about the other things i could do to make the chimney safer.

Charles did the checking, inspection of the flue from basement and on rook , took pictures to show me condition of the existing flue and crown. Original inspection/cleaning was arrange by phone call. Original service was to be $49.95 for cleaning and inspection. Charles discussed the mans of preventing water from degrading the terracotta flue further by replacing it with the stainless steel liner, etc. It was $1825 and tax, (total 1934) Job took a couple of hours. Charles showed me all parts before starting the work.
